We were excited to take on the challenge when Ohana Artist Lisa Webb asked us to build her dream ukulele. Below is a personal excerpt from Lisa on her musical journey that inspired the creation of “JAZZY”.
"Growing up in St. Louis, my musical background is steeped in jazz and blues. I’ve studied the piano since the age of 5, but fell in love equally with the ukulele a few years back. "JAZZY" is my dream custom ukulele, which bridges both instruments and touches on who I am as a musician.
Brad at the Ohana Custom Shop took my ideas and crafted them into the reality of a truly beautiful instrument. His sensitivity in working with me, together with his masterful craftsmanship, has produced a lovely ukulele made of the finest koa, maple, and ebony. Not only is it an amazing piece of art, but it plays beautifully and is sonically sweet. It is an artful homage to the piano and a ukulele I will treasure."
